Paragliding in Rila is performed from two take-off spots: Borovets – Markudzhik 2 and Kalin peak.
The flight from Borovets makes it possible to see Musala peak at your feet 15 minutes after take-off. The duration of the flight depends on weather conditions, but usually on this kind of paraglider trip we fly as much as possible. If conditions allow, the flight may take up to several hours.
The second place for paragliding in Rila is near Kalin Dam, which is the highest situated dam on the Balkan Peninsula. It is located in northwest Rila on the only scenic road with a 1,700-metre difference between its highest and lowest points, starting from the village of Pastra.
Rila is one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Bulgaria and it is a privilege to see it from a bird’s vantage point, regardless of where you decide to start. Paragliding in mountains like Rila is a laborious and complicated task, and great patience and synchronization of all factors are needed. We observe the weather forecast several days before the flight and pay special attention to all the various components. In the end, all these efforts are worthwhile when it comes to flying in Rila and this is why we have prepared a range of delightful gift packages.
